have questions?

We haveAnswers

Q: What is our level of expertise?

A: We've been photographers since the early 1990's, and we started as film photographers. Gasp! Our experience includes portrait, event, product and fine art photography. Since we started Angela Clifton Photography in 2009, we've done over 3,000 portrait sessions and events. We love photography and working with clients to create a fun, comfortable atmosphere while we capture Moments that Last a Lifetime.

Q: Will we work with your budget?

A: We have options that suit most clients’ budgets. Usually our clients expect to come away a handful of photos from their Angela Clifton Photography session, but then fall in love with far more. We consider this the highest compliment! We realize custom portraiture is an investment, and we are honored when our clients choose us to capture photos that will adorn their walls and populate cherished albums for generations to come. The fabulous outfit, iPad or even cute hair style may bring a smile to your face temporarily; but the investment you make in your custom photos will bring smiles to you and your family’s faces for many years to come. We hope you choose to invest in Moments that Last a Lifetime.

Q: Will we capture posed and candid photos?

A. Yes, a typical session organically weaves in and out of capturing posed shots and candid moments. Want amazing candids? Our best tips: relax, laugh a little and be enthusiastic. Brent can be pretty entertaining during sessions, and when you're enjoying yourself it will shine through wonderfully in candids.

Q: What is our scheduling process?

A: We prefer to discuss scheduling over the phone. We've found this ensures all of your questions are answered and there is no confusion. Once we have all of the information we need to schedule, we collect the applicable payment/retainer and send a contract for your signature. Our discussions about your wedding photography are on-going as the planning evolves.

Q: How far out should I schedule my wedding/session?

A: As soon as possible, especially if you need a particular date or have limited availability. We schedule throughout the year, and certain times of year we are quite busy and have a wait list.

Q: How many photos will I receive from my session?

A: Each session is unique so it is challenging to say how many photos you will receive. Generally speaking, we deliver 15+ photos for 30min sessions, 30+ for 1hr sessions and 45+ for 1.5hr sessions. Weddings are different and, depending on length, generate hundreds of photos.

Q: What time of day is best for my session?

A: The best time for your session depends on the time of year and location. We prefer to do park sessions in the morning or afternoon, usually avoiding midday. We prefer to do beach sessions towards the end of the day. Give us a call and we'll discuss the best time of day for your session.

Q: What do I wear to my photo session?

A: This is one of our most common questions so we’ve created a What to Wear Guide. It is geared towards families, but all of our clients LOVE it!

Q: Where are the best Tampa area locations for photo sessions?

A: With over 3,000 photo sessions under our belt, we’ve tried quite a few locations in the Tampa area. We’ve found some work betters than others. We like to discuss our clients’ needs to ensure we’re using the best location. Feel free to give us a call 727-946-8129 or click here to email us and schedule your session.

Q: Are there any limitations to locations?

A: We don’t recommend beach locations for children younger than 5-years-old. The sand and the surf can be distracting. However, if you have your heart set on the beach, we’ll make it work. All of our locations are based on availability.

Q: What genres of photography do you do?

A: We cover the entire life spectrum: engagement, wedding, maternity, newborn, family and senior portraits. We also do events of all kinds.

Q: What is a digital file?

A: Digital files are the digital versions of your photos. You can post them on social media, have them printed, make an album, even put them on a t-shirt. You’re only limited by your imagination. Any digital file purchased from us is high-resolution and comes with a print release. We recommend backing up digital files purchased to an external hard drive, flash drive and/or to the cloud. If you would like us to send you a flash drive or CD of your digital files, the fee is $30.

Q: What is a retouch?

A: A retouch is when we change something about the photo. This can include evening skin tone, easing wrinkles, whitening teeth, or smoothing stray hairs. If your package includes a basic retouch it will include the above items and retouching above and beyond this may incur an additional fee. More complex retouches may include removing glare from glasses, swapping heads on a photo, removing someone or changing the sky or background. Click here for more information about our retouch service.

Q: How can I read more testimonials?

A: We love for potential clients to read our testimonials! You can read reviews and keep up to date with us on Facebook, we also have reviews on our Google Business Page, Yelp Angie’s List, and Wedding Wire.

Q: What is required to hold a date?

A: A retainer or Session Fee and a signed contract holds your date.

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes, absolutely. We can provide proof of insurance upon request.

Q: Do we have backup equipment?

A: Yes, we always have backup equipment with us. We exclusively use Canon photography equipment.

Q: Do we travel for weddings and sessions?

A: Yes, absolutely! Click here to contact us about our packages including traveling for destination weddings and sessions.

Q: What forms of payment do we accept?

A: We accept checks, all major credit cards, Paypal, Zelle, Cash app and Venmo. We have an installment plan for certain purchases.
